In order to curb air pollution and illegal encroachment, Jalandhar Smart City Limited has utilised the space under three flyovers namely Pathankot Chowk, Hoshiarpur Chowk and DAV Flyover. In this way beautiful green space has been developed under these flyovers.
To increase the greenery, approximate 4 acres vacant land has been transformed into green space. About 20 pillars of the three flyovers have been decorated with vertical gardens. These areas have walking trails for the public Along with this, about 5500 number of saplings with different varieties of flowers have been planted. These saplings are regularly watered using the automatic drip irrigation system. This project is providing good oxygen to the drivers passing under the flyover and will also reduce the level of pollution and temperature.
